Maybe you are trying to save money, so being out and about doing fun activities can create additional financial strain. Whether you are staying home due to social distancing or financial responsibilities, there are plenty of ways to have fun with your kids at home and on a budget.

Children love to have the chance to get things done with you. Helping out in the kitchen is an excellent choice to consider when searching for inexpensive exercises to do. 5. Play With Boxes

Have you ever gotten your kid an expensive toy that they nagged you about only for them to enamored by the box? Kids love to play with boxes. On the off chance you have boxes lying around, you can allow your kids to create things with them. Dismantle the boxes or let the kids draw on them with markers and crayons. If you are feeling ambitious, let them use paint!

6. Create tie-dye shirts

Create tie-dye shirts with any plain shirts that you aren't wearing. All that you may need to purchase is the paint for the shirts. You could also make colorful shirts using fabric markers. This activity is not only fun but once the shirts are dry, kids can wear them, taking pride in their creations. Make it a family thing, and everyone can wear their shirts together!

7. Build a fort or tent.

Kids love forts and tents! There are lots of ways to build an at-home fort. You could start with some sheets or blankets and drape them over chairs or stacked pillows on either end to create a central haven. If your kids have a small dome light, iPad, or cellphone, they will love sitting in their fort reading or watching movies. Don't be too big of a grown-up to join them if you are lucky enough to get invited. Understand that an invitation inside of their home fortress is an honor. Welcome it.

 

Sometimes things don't go as planned, and we have to figure out a different way to manage our lives. We have to figure out alternatives to our norm on the fly, with little time to prepare. Some of us are accustomed to throwing money at everything and solving our problems that way. What happens when you have to stay at home? Can you find all the opportunities around you to reconnect with your kids? Do you remember to look at what is already there? Our children want our time, our empathy; they want to know that we are listening and that we care. Its a more significant reward when the things you do inside are fun, modest, and offer you the chance to bond with your family. These exercises can give long stretches of imaginative amusement to even the most impenetrable of family spending plans.
